Wings of Protection

The title of Psalm 57 to the chief of Musicians set to “Do not destroy”, is a Miktam of David; i.e.
golden. David recounts how the Lord saved him from the hands of Saul and his army. We will study some verses of this Psalm.
The Title: “do not destroy”: This Psalm is related to 1Samuel 26 when king Saul and three thousand men pursued David to Kill him. “So David and Abishai came to the people by night; and there Saul lay sleeping within the camp, with his spear stuck in the ground by his head. And Abner and the people lay all around him.” (1Sam. 26:7) David had the chance to kill Saul, “But David said to Abishai, “Do not destroy him; … So David took the spear and the jug of water by Saul’s head, and they got away; and no man saw or knew it or awoke. For they were all asleep, because a deep sleep from the LORD had fallen on them.” (1Sam. 26: 9, 12). The Lord uses sleep to protect David. You can confess your faith that the Lord will not allow your enemies to see you or harm you. He is able to keep them busy and protect you from a mighty army. Therefore, do not solve your problems by fibbing, quarreling, or immoral relationships. Trust that the Lord has His ways in solving your problems. This is the meaning of “do not destroy”.
Always seek the Lord to solve your problems. He will give you peace, and tranquility. Trust that He will not rest until he concludes your matters!
“Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, until these calamities have passed by.” (Ps. 57: 17). When you face the world’s temptations, fears, or sickness, come to the Lord and repeat the same prayer. ‘In the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge’ means entering the Holies –like David- who even though he was inside the cave, he felt as though he was in the Holies, thus enjoying the Lord’s protection. “Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus,” (Heb 10: 19). Faith in the blood of Jesus permits us into the holiest of holies to enjoy the divine protection, and brings down angels to stop the mouths of lions.
“I will cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. … My soul is among lions. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me; into the midst of it they themselves have fallen. “(Ps. 57: 2-3, 4, 6). The Lord protects us from the schemes of evil people.
“Awake, lute and harp!” (Ps. 57: 8). While in the cave (in the midst of difficulty) and before sleeping, David praised the Lord, “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.”(Ps.57: 11). If you are going through similar circumstances, start and end your day praising the Lord; just as Deborah said: “awake and praise the Lord your God”.
Use all that you can to praise the Lord: words of your mouth, spiritual songs, bible verses, and lift the Lord above all
The Most High: that name reveals that He controls all the earth, that He is above all authorities, kings, and rulers, that He is righteous in all His ways, “The King’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes” (Prov. 21: 1)

Come to the Lord, give him your life and you will enjoy divine protection, and deliverance. Praise the Lord. Thank Him because he protects you under the shadow of His wings and
He controls everything for your good.
