The Year of Restoration

“And I will restore to you the years that the swarming locusts have eaten” (Joel 2: 25). The Lord ends the effects of the locusts upon your life replacing them with blessings. “And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground” (Mal 3: 11). Satan is the devourer who devours your prosperity, health, happiness, or children. If you have unrepented sin in your life, that could be the devourer or reason behind the devouring of the locusts.

Turning back to the Lord, repenting all sins, and living in God’s will; living for the Lord Jesus Christ who loved you and gave His life up for you, will stop the devourer. “But I will remove far from you the northern army, and will drive him away into a barren and desolate land … His stench will come up” (Joel 2: 20). In the year of restoration, the devourer will come to an end and his stench will be apparent; that you might not be deceived once again by the lure of the world.

“So he went out from Pharaoh and entreated the Lord. And the Lord turned a very strong west wind, which took the locusts away and blew them into the Red sea. There remained not one locust” (Ex 10: 18, 19). Pray, just as Moses did, to get rid of the locusts in your life; and believe that they will not come back. It will be a time of restoration and the Lord will mend what Satan has destroyed. The scorched land will have water once again, “Do not be afraid, you beasts of the field; for the open pastures are springing up, and the tree bears its fruit; the fig tree and the vine yield their strength … the threshing floor shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil” (Joel 2: 22, 24)

Do you expect marvelous deeds by the Lord in your life? Expect wonders, for the Lord will do great things in restoring what was robbed; to see clearly the hands of the Lord in restoration, success and fruitfulness, “You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame” (Joel 2: 26). He will transform shame into glory, “Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you … But the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you … also the sons of those who afflicted you shall come bowing to you, and all those who despised you shall fall prostate at the soles of your feet” (Is. 60: 1- 2, 14) Sadness and mourning will turn into joy, which will be apparent in praising the Lord who gives the former and latter rain in the appropriate time and quantity, so fear not O land; for the Lord has done marvelous things! (Joel 2: 21)

Believe in divine restoration in all areas of your life and you will see wonders, much more than you think or ask for. It will be the end of failure and shame!
