The Last Days

“Therefore, do not worry, saying, ‘what shall we eat?’ or ‘what shall we drink?’ or what shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things … do not worry about tomorrow,” (Matt. 6: 31, 33) Do not worry about the present or the future. Also, do not act like the non believers by worrying about the consequences of your past mistakes. The believer trusts that the Lord loves him, and therefore cares for him, satisfies all his needs, and keeps him from all evil. Come to the Lord and cast all your care on Him. The Holy Spirit will reveal to your heart how greatly you are loved and will fill you with His amazing peace.

“Be anxious for nothing … and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil 4: 6). ‘Surpasses all understanding’, means being able to enjoy peace in spite of the imminent threats or disturbing medical reports.

The closer we get to the last days, the higher the level of disturbance in the world. Fear and anxiety characterize the end times. However, the believer enjoys the peace of the Lord Jesus who overcomes our circumstances by the peace He passes on to us.

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, … lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power” (2 Tim. 3: 1-5) In the last days, strange things will happen and division among families will spread. People will be more selfish, boastful, lovers of themselves, and of money. Rebellion against all forms of authority will be prevalent. “Having a form of godliness but denying its power” means that people will be church goers, but lacking real love for the Lord. Ask the Lord to preserve you from these evil ways and cleanse you from these dangerous inclinations that Satan is trying to push us into. So, seek a real relationship with the Lord.

“Knowing this first: that scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts, and saying, “where is the promise of His coming?” (2 Pet. 3: 3-4). Some might mock the Word of the Lord and His promises proclaiming His soon return and the rewards He carries. Get ready for the rapture at any time for the non-believers will be left behind to suffer the tribulation. Give your life to the Lord to escape the Divine wrath. Do not be a scoffer of the Lord’s Word and His long suffering. Not one of His Words will fail. So don’t be deaf to His warnings. Pray this prayer: Help me to appreciate your love and your death for me on the cross.

“Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come (1 John 2: 18). John is warning the new believers of Antichrist doctrines, opposers of truth, and of the Word of God; who are going to be revealed during the last days.

“These things I have written to you concerning those who try to deceive you. But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you” ( 1 John 2: 26, 27). The indwelling Holy Spirit confirms that the Lord Jesus is a real person and that He died and rose from the death. The Holy Spirit aides you to resist all the ideals of the Anti-Christ , that you might be like Daniel and his three friends, who studied in the best magic and astronomy school in Babylon, yet remained steadfast in their faith; due to their real relationship with the Lord. You, too, can ask the Lord to cleanse your mind from doubt; and the Holy Spirit’s anointing will teach you everything.

“Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted and your garments are moth eaten” (James 5: 1, 2). In the last days, people will care more about their bank accounts, bonds, stock market, and outer appearances. Exploiting the poor will multiply, leading them to cry out to the Lord for injustice. At that time, currencies will collapse, gold and silver will rust, and huge financial losses will take place. As for you, pray that your labor is not wasted or robbed. Believe in the Lord’s protection, seek His guidance, and do not rush into decisions as deception will be the prominent characteristic of these days.

“But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Jude 17). Knowing that one is “beloved” enables one to stand firm in the last days.

Trust that the Lord loves you and that He protects and cares for you. He will protect you from the scoffers who walk after their own lusts.

“But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in the love of God” (Jude 20, 21) Keep yourself in the love of God rejecting any suggestions that the Lord does not love you, has forgotten you, or is unjust. Also, do not go to places that cause your love to the Lord to become cold. Keep yourself in God’s love, for the Lord loved you, died for you, and said ‘I have called you by name. You are Mine!’
