Spiritual Awakening
“For the LORD had accepted Job” (Job 42: 9) Put your name in place of Job‘s and tell.yourself the Lord is my glory and the lifter of my head; and this verse will be fulfilled in my.life.
“And his master saw that the LORD was with him and that the LORD made all he did to.prosper in his hand.” (Gen 39: 3). The Lord will give you success in all areas and under all.circumstances; just like Joseph. He was able to experience the Lord’s support for him even.while in prison because he enjoyed a genuine relationship with Him.
“Thus Solomon finished the house of the LORD and the king’s house; and Solomon.successfully accomplished all that came into his heart to make in the house of the LORD.and in his own house.” (2 Chr. 7: 11). The Lord shall empower you to finish the work that He.has given you and Satan will not be able to steal the fruit. Proclaim your faith that your effort.will not be in vain and that the blessing will reach your home so that you will be from glory to.glory. Also, that the Lord will establish the thoughts that are according to His will and will.give you success in executing them.
The Lord wants to move you to a new stage. So, be filled with faith that the bad things will.come to an end and that new good things will start happening. “Behold, I will do a new thing,.now it shall spring forth” (Is. 43: 19).“Therefore He says: Awake, you who sleep, arise from the dead, and Christ will give you.light” (Eph. 5: 14). The Lord gives you power to be arise from the death of sin. Your heart.should be set against sin and evil. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of.darkness, but rather expose them” (Eph. 5: 11). Be steadfast in your refusal to sinful acts.such as: lying, gossiping, deceiving, and immorality. And the Holy Spirit will cause your life.to shine and yield good fruit such as holiness, love and selfless life full of peace.notwithstanding the circumstances. Thus your life will reprove others and cause them to.awaken.
If you are still spiritually asleep, confess your faith that it is time for a new stage; and that the.light will shine in your life and in your household. “And do this, knowing the time, that now it.is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first.believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of.darkness, and let us put on the armor of light.” (Ro. 13: 11-13). Casting off the works of.darkness is an act of will. Let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.by adhering to the Word, and prayer meetings seeking a life of holiness.
“Then as he lay and slept under a boom tree, suddenly and angel touched him, and said to.him: “arise and eat.” (1 kings 19: 5). Elijah’s slumber was that of despair and frustration. He.sought death for himself as he felt that his life was meaningless, and that he failed in his.ministry, beside Jezebel’s threat to kill him. However, the Lord sent his angel to wake him.up. He strengthened his body by food and healed his emotions. He restored him to the.ministry and confirmed him by power. The Lord will do the same with each one of us. He.will raise us from despair and frustration and appoints us for His glory.
“Awake, awake Deborah! Awake, awake sing a song! (Judges 5: 12) Deborah is calling.herself to a new beginning to praise the Lord, and to turn from the life of slumber to that of.praise. You also, are called to spiritual awakening, to praise the Lord with all your strength;.for His mighty deeds. “Awake, lute and harp! I will awaken the dawn.” (Ps. 108: 2). The.Psalmist not only awakens himself, but the musical instruments as well to praise the Lord.with several instruments and give thanks. “For Your mercy is great above the heavens, and.Your truth reaches to the clouds.” (Ps. 108: 4).“Now the angel who talked with me came back and wakened me, as a man who is wakened.out of his sleep. And he said to me, “What do you see?” (Zech. 4: 1, 2). It seems that.Zechariah had stopped listening to Divine instructions and understanding the mind of God.
So, the angel came to wake him up and end the time of slumbering. Zechariah resembles.the believer who used to study the Word of God, attend spiritual meetings regularly, and.enjoy the presence of the Lord through visions and dreams. Suddenly, as if he got satiated,.fell asleep, and became sluggish, because the flesh is weak. Therefore, I need to discipline.my body, bring it into subjection, and obey the King just like Zechariah. It is time to wake up.from the slumber/sleep of sin, despair, and scarcity of praise and worship; and start to grasp.and understand the Lord’s mind/thoughts.
